Since our Zone 13C opened on October 23 & 24, I’ve been back to our property and neighborhood 3 times.

On the first day it was mom and I and it felt good to see familiar faces. We got to catch up with a few of our neighbors and reminisce on life before the fires.

It was emotional as you can imagine.

We only knew the damage that was done from Google Satellite. We got some closure those days.

The days following, I was feeling a tad turmoil - LOTS OF CONFUSION & UNCERTAINTY about life.

I had brought the girls to check out the house and felt a lot better after talking with them. It’s been hard to understand my feelings & frustration while trying to be strong for them and the family.

I went back by myself after work one day to really get closure. I felt more at ease after.

It was a challenge to get back into some type of normalcy after losing everything. Trying to find a place to live, figuring out school for the kiddos, and re-thinking/evaluating a bunch of live choices. Mainly should I look for alternative employment options.

Life threw us a curve ball and it sucked. Killed my soul and spirit.

I am getting help and have been talking to someone about this trauma.

The video is a walkthrough of what remains on our property & some awesome pictures of how it use to be.
